~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A striking vintage Postmodern torchiere floor lamp with an exceptionally refined, architectural silhouette, circa 1970s–1980s.
Standing 65.5 inches tall, the lamp rises from a substantial circular base into an extraordinarily slender black column, terminating in a dramatic flared trumpet-form uplighter. The smooth dark exterior contrasts beautifully with the heavily textured pale interior of the reflector, designed to amplify and diffuse light upward into a warm atmospheric glow across the ceiling.
A small spherical side control punctuates the otherwise minimalist profile and gives the lamp an especially distinctive period character.
The sculptural trumpet form and restrained geometry strongly evoke the experimental Italian lighting designs of the late 1970s and 1980s, including the celebrated Solaris family of torchieres associated with Tre Ci Luce. This example is presently unmarked and is therefore offered without a specific designer or manufacturer attribution.
Beautiful both illuminated and unlit, its commanding scale and remarkably clean silhouette make it an exceptional statement piece for a contemporary, Postmodern, Minimalist or Mid-Century Modern interior.
Dimensions: 65.5” H
Period: Circa 1970s–1980s
Condition: Very good vintage condition with minor wear consistent with age. Fully functional.
