~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A rare and exceptionally sculptural vintage four-light lotus bouquet lamp dating to the early 1990s, featuring four illuminated blossoms arranged at graduated heights along gracefully curved polished-metal stems.
Each lotus is composed of individually mounted frosted glass petals framed by broad clear beveled edges, creating a layered, jewel-like effect when illuminated. Delicate brass-tone supports trace the contours of every petal, while substantial clear Lucite collars beneath each flower add a refined architectural detail and enhance the lamp’s glamorous, late-20th-century profile.
The composition presents three lower blossoms surrounding a taller central flower, producing a dramatic botanical silhouette from every angle. A multi-position switch provides three distinct lighting modes, allowing different groupings of the blossoms to illuminate independently or together. The frosted glass diffuses a soft atmospheric glow, while the clear beveled borders catch and refract the light.
Each flower incorporates the ornamental lotus-shade design protected under U.S. Design Patent D319,705, filed in 1989 and granted in 1991 to Taiwanese designer C. T. Tsai. The lamp is additionally marked “Made in Taiwan,” supporting its identification as a period early-1990s design.
The lamp retains its original warm brass-tone circular base, sculptural stems, glass assemblies and Lucite details. The finish displays attractive natural patina consistent with age, while the glass petals appear complete and remarkably well preserved.
An elegant statement piece with strong Hollywood Regency, 1990s glam and botanical-modern appeal, ideal for a console, credenza, pedestal, bedroom or dramatic entry interior.
